Description
Hexified Panel Quilts is a new variation of the popular kaleidoscopic techniques. Use 7 panels–six to make the hexagons and a seventh uncut panel to frame within the layout. Full instructions with color photos guide you through the various steps from cutting the strips and triangle sets, making the units, tips on designing your color flow, adding an optional flange frame to the panel, to assembling the rows into sections around the panel, and sewing sections together into a finished top. Yardage for borders on a throw size quilt are included in the pattern; however, borders are optional so each quilter may create their own unique finished look. The pattern includes tips on how to adapt to any size panel. Hexified Panel Quilts have been made out of panels with blocks as small as 4″x4″ that made minis perfect for mug rugs or placemats, panels with larger blocks ranging from 8″x8″ to 22″x24″ that made great wall hangings, to full WOF panels ranging in width from 18″ to 36″ or more that made throws to twins to an 80″x80″ finish including borders. The adaptability of this pattern to any size panel is part of its magic.
